Fishing Tuition Packages are available for all abilities by a very experienced Angler Brian Easterbrook.

Duchy of Cornwall fishing licences are required and can be purchased from the hotel reception.

Fly Fishing for Beginners

Still Water for Beginners  Salmon Intermediate
Day Courses

Instruction in Troutfly - £20.00 per hour (min 2 hours) or £90.00 per day.

Instruction in Salmon Fly - £25.00 per hour (min 3 hours) or £140.00 per day.

Instruction in Sea Trout - £75.00 per evening.

Gillie Service - Trout £70.00 Salmon £90.00.

A reduction of 25% per person where two people fish.
Tackle can be hired.

Two Day Course in Fly Fishing For Beginners on Rivers
1900 hrs on day of arrival  - Welcome & Introduction.
Day One
  • 0930 Lecture - The basics of fishing, safety, tackle & approach.
  • 1030 Casting Instruction - Using different methods.
  • 1200 Review - Of mornings progress.
  • 1215 Lunch
  • 1300 Wet Fishing on River
  • 1700 Review - Of days work followed by fisherman's knots & construction of tapered leaders.
Day Two
  • 0930 Lecture- Dry Fly Fishing.
  • 1015 River Fishing - Dry Fly.
  • 1230 Lunch- Packed lunch by river.
  • 1330 Wet Fly and Nymph upstream

  • 0930 - 1230 Fishing - On reservoir, instruction in wading, safety & wet & dry fly techniques.
  • 1230 - 1315 Packed Lunch
  • 1315 - 1715 Different Methods - And Fishing the Nymph.

NB - A double handed rod is advisable but a stiff reservoir rod rated 7-8 will be suitable for single handed.

Three Day Intermediate Course in River & Fly Fishing for Trout
1900 hrs on day of arrival - Welcome & Introduction.
Day One
  • 0930 Casting - Instruction & Practice
  • 1100 Wet Fly Fishing
  • 1300 Packed Lunch
  • 1400 Fishing the Wet Fly - Up Stream
  • 1700 Demonstration - And practice in the construction of tapered leaders.
Day Two
  • 1000 Dry Fly - Technique & practice on river under guidance of instructor.
  • 1300 Packed Lunch
  • 1400 Upstream Nymph
  • 1700 Fishing Ends
Day Three
0900 Fishing - The High Moor with Instructor. This takes you deep into the moor, a long walk, backpacks & packed lunch are the order of the day hence an early start is required.
